THE Chief Operating Officer (COO) at akurase.com, Mr Ricky Anokye, has stated that the 23rd edition of the Ghana International Trade Fair (GITF) was positioned to promote local delicacies and other cultural elements to sell Ghana to the world.
According to him, the 23rd Ghana International Trade Fair, which ended yesterday in Accra, was expected to exhibit and make local goods attractive to tourists, especially in this Year of Return.
Mr Anokye added that his outfit has the mandate to ensure that tourists and the local people alike, experiment the packages that Ghana possesses, which would in the long run, boost our tourism, arts and culture.
The fair, organised by the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTCL) with support from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, was on the theme: “Made in Ghana, Globally accepted.”
“We have had discussions with Ghana Folklore Board and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to lure tourists into savouring our goodies at akurase.com during this year’s edition of the Ghana International Trade fair to witness and get familiar with what we have here,” he told the GRAPHIC BUSINESS on March 1.
Mr Anokye revealed that his outfit was looking to expand its tentacles across Ghana, on a cultural awareness campaign to expose the akurase.com brand and our rich Ghanaian culture as a whole.
“We have also planned to tour the whole country with akurase.com at festivals and other functions that bring a lot of people to showcase our culture and reconnect the local people to their true African roots,” he said.

About the Trade fair
The just-ended Ghana International Trade Fair (GITF) this year was focused on creating unique opportunities for business owners to showcase Ghana’s domestic products and services and attract foreign investors as well.
There were conferences and incubator platforms to connect small businesses to seasoned CEOs who would help the companies to properly plan and market their products and services to the global market.
